13 December 2011 If any person imports goods from outside India and the freight is paid by the party residing outside India and reimbursed that freight to the party residing outside India, then whether that reimbursement will fetch any TDS liability or not? Freight paid is from the country outside India to Indian port and further to the place of importer.

14 December 2011 No. Since it is a reimbursement of expenses & not any service charges being paid. You may take necessary documents as a proof of reimbursement. Also take debit note from foreign party mentioning nature of payment called for.
