14 June 2008 Can anyone help me in sorting out whether staff uniform given to the employess in hotel industry is to be included in FBT calculation or not?
Pls specify the reason taking in mind that uniform to chefs r statuory obligaiton or not.

14 June 2008 Uniform to chef is not statutory obligation any expenditure for meeting the employers statutory obligation under the INDUSTRIAL EMPLOYMENT STANDING ORDERS ACT 1946 IS NOT COVERED UNDER FBT.
Expenditure on providing uniform reimbursment or washing expenses cannot be said to be employee welfare expenses.
