A doctor friend of mine is planning to set up his own nursing home/ hospital..
Are there any government subsidies or grants that he can use??

More details required ..
1. if as a profession then you do not get any grant... you can enroll the establishment under MSME and submit subsidy claims for machinery and equipment and in a few states there are other direct and indirect benefits provided, like electricity concessions, PF adm. charge concession etc ...
2. if it is under the banner of any trust or society for charitable purpose you can avail grants as an NGO which requires some years of credible services history..
3. if you are setting up the hospital ( do not call it a nursing home as it reduces the scope a lot ) with wider object clause under the NGO banner with scopes like para medical training, nursing training etc than you are there to get some grants from the Govt. with prior approval, etc..
