11 August 2011 Sir,

1.We have got enrolment certificate in the month of Oct 2010, but we started paying the professional tax from may 2011 onwards. Any penalty will be imposed?

2.Can you please provide me the payment date of professional tax? is there any month in which we need to pay on 31st of the same month?

11 August 2011 1) enrollment certificates are issued at 1st payment for the year so the next payment gets due by start of next financial year. must be paid within 31st july

2) For enrollment the due date is before july 31st, while for registration ( deduction from salary and payment to profession tax department) the due date is 21st of next month.

11 August 2011 1. Due Date for payment of Maharashtra profession tax in respect of enrollment certificate holders is 30th June.

2. Due date of payment of profession tax deducted from salary is 30/31st of the month subsequent to the month to which it relates.Tax liability payment is this case depends upon the annual tax liability and accordingly varies monthy, quarterly or annual.
