12 December 2008 I am having a proprietory concern business having 9 employees.I want to know do I have to pay professional tax from employees salaries. How much Minimum number of employees should be there to apply for professional tax.

12 December 2008 Profession Tax is a State matter and you have to indicate which state you belong to.. anyway the logic is on the salary of the employee that you deduct PT and in West Bengal, even if you have one employee and his salary is above the minimum limit then you have to take registration for Employees .. Your registration as employer is again a separate issue
