17 August 2011 I am at present interested to Import Cotton Seeds in India.
H.S. Code 120720 for this product.

I wanted to know is this product allowed to be imported in India or it is under Restriction.

I want to know this from an expert of foreign trade and knows regulation of DGFT.

17 August 2011 not restricted item as per foreign trade policy 2009-2014.if this is restricted you can apply for import licence, IF YOU ARE VALID IEC HOLDER.

As per the link which you have sent. Product can be easily imported with payment of certain duty.

Sir can you tell what percentage of duty has to be paid if product is to imported from Cameroon Africa.

custom duty is already mentioned on the above said link :

basic custom duty : 30%
special cvd : 4%

17 August 2011 I was seeing DGFT website https://www.dgft.gov.in/ . In the website in DOWNLOAD under ITC {HS}Schedule 1 (Import) below mentioned thing is mentioned for particular product HS Code.

1207 20 10 Of seed quality Restricted Import subject to conditions at Licensing note (4) below.
