Procudure for Transferring Shares to Demat Form

25 June 2010 Hello,
I have few Shares which are in Paper Form,i want to convert these shares into demat form. What is the Procudure for transferring shares into demat form?
Please guide me as per SEBI guidelines.

25 June 2010 More than SEBI guidelines, you need to understand the practical requirements. In your case, you need to fill the Dematerialization Request Form (DRF) provided by the DP and surrender the physical shares, which you want to be dematted to the DP. [DP-SHIL/ Any other provider]

25 June 2010 First you open the Demat a/c. with any of the Depository Participant(DP) and fill the Demat Request form and submit the same along with the Physical share certificate to the DP. It will be converted to demat form. You will get the demat statement from the DP periodically.
