Kindly clarify regarding registration of vat and cst whicherver is required.
Business intro:
Myself Vikash kushwaha... furniture wholeseller in Bihar and intend to purchasing of furnitures from other states like delhi ,kolkata as a whole so which registration is compulsory to me and what are the procedure of the same and kindly further tell me tax payable rate on inputs and prescribed rates under sale tax.. Kindly don't ask me to refer on the website of vat.

12 December 2013 Dear Mr. Vikash,

Registration is compulsory only to dealers whose turnover in the year exceeds Rs 5 Lakhs. For other dealers, it is optional.
As you want to Purchase from outside state, you need to register under CST Act,1956 but before it you need to register under VAT Act in your District Commercial Tax Office.

For CST Registration you may download Form A of Central Sales Tax Act,1956 & Consult a lawyer about respective VAT registration forms which are used in your state.

Your lawyer will clarify you better about local rules/tax rate etc. in your state.
