I want to open my proprietor firm. my business will be placement agency.
Please advise the procedure to open the proprietorship fir. and which licence will be applicable for me like service tax, pan number etc.

1. For proprietor firm no need to take separate PAN. Your individual PAN will do.

2. Service Tax Reg. to be taken when gross receipts crosses Rs.9 lacs in a financial year.

3. Make a rubber stamp of proprietor, letter head, address stamp and get a CA certificate for address proof if you don't have any (accepted by private banks); if your place of business is other than existing one.

4. You have to register your firm under PROFESSION TAX.
