11 October 2013 Is it mandatory to serve notice period during probation of any job?
Since probation means temporary contract, Notice period need not be served as per my knowledge

11 October 2013 Normally notice period is not required during probation period.

However the same is governed by the terms of appointment. There is no hard and fast rule and the same will depend on the terms between the employer and the employee.
