05 May 2010 What happens if a document needs to be signed by a principal of an articled clerk and the principal is in no position to sign the same as he is gravely ill. Can his partner sign the same?

A service certificate needs to be signed by the principal stating that the student is in the last year of articleship in order to write the CA final exams. This was actuall sent along with the examination form already. But the institute has the habit of again asking for one more service certificate form. But my friend's principal is gravely ill. Can his partner sign the same?

05 May 2010 This certicate has to be sent before may 31. Also my friends' articleship is getting over in Aug 2010. Can the principal's partner do all the formalities required?
