Practice or Industry????/

21 July 2011 I had Cleared CA in 2007 and since then started my own practice and stared getting the work on assignment basis from other CA Firms. But today when i look back i ma not satisfied with my career growth. So now i am thinking of switching to Industry. what is the options available to me? should i enter the Industry or not. My age is 28 now, what are the scope in the Industry for a chartered accountant like me. I had my own practice, my own firm, my own office but never had my own clients. The clients were of other established CA Firm. I started the journey of becoming practicing CA, but i now i think individual practice is not at all possible as rightly said my senior in the past.
I wish, the expert from CA Club india will give me useful and genuine advice in this matter.
I have cleared my CA in first attemp and recently done DISA as well.....Still I believe i am on the wrong track!!!!!

21 July 2011 To continue in practice, you need patience. As it seems, it had been 3-4 years since you have started practice. I think you may try any of the following to get clients.

1. Approach banks and submit them your profile for the purposes of internal / concurrent audits.

2. Keep on developing public relations and keep on attending social gatherings whereby people can know that you are a practicing CA.

3. ICAI has allowed advertisement for Chartered Accountants with some restrictions. See, if you can take the benefit of advertising.

4. Try Networking with other Chartered Accountants whereby you can get assignments which the other CA's cant do, like internal audit, or other such related assignments.

All you need to do is take efforts in client building with keeping ethics in mind. You will definitely grow. All the best for your career.
