22 July 2016 pls explain the difference between rent and depreciation......what is known as the cost of using an asset....is it rent or depreciation

22 July 2016 rent is the monetory consideration paid by the user to the owner.
depreciation is the non cash expenditure incurred by the owner for the use and wear and tear of the asset.
