22 January 2013 Friends I have cleared my first grp. of CA Final and thereafter i have tried 3 times for the 2nd grp. but could not succeeded. In my first 2 attempts i was not fully prepared but i have got around 170-180 but this time i was fully prepared and my exam was also good and i was sure for the success this time. But i could not believe when i checked my result yesterday.Because after 5 months of hard work i managed to get only 146 and at the same time my friend who has taken a leave of only 15 days has managed 185 and his syllabus was also not fully completed. Now i am in frustration and wondering what should i study further as i have fully completed the syllabus of costing ,ISCA , IDT and 70% of DT. I am also afraid that the same story might be repeated next time .
i think something is wrong with me due to which i have not been able to cross the barrier of 200 marks.
Friends please suggest me as i am in deep frustration and dont know what to do

23 January 2013 I think you need to write your answers and make the presentation part of it a little better. Do not compare with peers because may be he knows the concepts better and he managed it in 15 days. Studying for 5 months does not give a guarantee that you will succeed. Quality and not quantity is important. I think you should work on writing your answers better and get them checked from experts. That Should be of immense help in my view point.

25 January 2013 Dear Priyank,thanks for the suggestions.

But boss i have prepared from the institute reference manuals and materials as many say that we should follow institute books for getting the good marks.

I want to know from you whether mentioning of sec & case laws are mandatory as there are lots of sec. and case laws specially in IDT and also should we write the case laws in detail like " xyz v CCEx,Mumbai 2010 (260)E.L.T.338 (S.C.)

25 January 2013 Its not possible to remember all the case laws. Few sections are important and you dont have to put in an effort to learn them. While practicing you will automatically learn up the important sections. Mentioning case laws and sections is not mandatory but recommended to portray and make your answer look better.
