Place where an income tax return (itr-4) can be filed?

29 September 2011 i wanted to know that if i am residing at say bombay and my assesing officer (registration) is at say pune...can i file my return at bombay or do i need to submit it at pune IT office?

please provide info whether the same can be done for inter-state office locations???

01 October 2011 As far as e-return in concerned, from wherever you file it will automatically reach to your jurisdictional assessing officer.
