Paying income tax online !!!

30 July 2012 Hi,

I have Filled ITR for the FY11-12 today itself and my Tax payable is Rs267, i want to pay it online but have few queries if anyone can answer...

1) Should I first send the signed ITRV and wait for the receipt of ITRV and than pay the tax online or should i pay the Tax and than send the Signed ITR.

2) There are options to select in "Type Of Payment*, which option should i select from below.
(100)ADVANCE TAX (102)SURTAX
(300)SELF ASSESSMENT TAX (106)TAX ON DISTRIBUTED PROFITS
(400)TAX ON REGULAR ASSESSMENT (107)TAX ON DISTRIBUTED INCOME

3) is this website proper for paying the tax?

30 July 2012 first you can pay tax . then upload the xml to income tax portal. and then you get ACK

31 July 2012 pay the tax first and then send the ack to banglore.

select self assessment tax option while paying tax.
since you are paying after due date, check

Thanks for the Reply, just have a follow up question.

Since I am paying the tax after 31st july do I have to pay interest on it and what if I pay extra.
