First time I registered myself on https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/ but accidentally I lost my password. To retrieve my password i contacted with them through e-mail and after inquiring my details they sent me file with extension .dat which I could not open.
Though my Gross salary income is more than taxable limit but after investing under sec 80c it is nil. so should i file I T Return? If yes. How can I file it online to save time? please help me .

30 September 2011 A file with the DAT file extension is a Data file.

you need to download the .dat file viewer software to open that file.
