10 March 2010 We are having partnership Firm form 3 years, but we noticed that somebody in last month trying to register our firm name by adding PVT LTD What is legal status, pls advise send email srk1261@gmail.com

10 March 2010 In my view, there can be two or many more number of partnership firms with the same or similar name. Moreover, since the other person is getting a company registered in a name which is similar to your partnership firm's name, you will not be able to prevent him for registering the name.

However, if you have a trademark or tradename and the company infringes with the same, then you can file a case under the Trademarks Act.
