I have a friend who is in the business of oil retailing since 2001 and during repairing work of his shop, he has lost his original copy of partnership deed, now what should we do.

in my opinion , u should file a FIR first ,then make a another deed.

If it is a registered deed then certified copy can be had from the concerned registering authority.

I agree with Mr Srinivasaraghavan. However, in case the deed is not registered, you can execute a fresh deed on the same terms and conditions by giving a reference to the facts that it is a deed executed in the lieu of the original deed lost and the term of deed will also remain the same.
