06 September 2013 I am first time going to be an assesse and to file my income tax return from assessesment year 2011-12 for which I do not have a pan card.in fact I have applied for a pan card and is expected in a 20 days time, the usual time taken I was told. I was told that last date for filing 2011-12 return is the 30th sep 2013 and I very much doubt the arrival of my pan card. Is there any procedure I can pay tax or if my return is nil tax or no tax return can I do it without a pan card.kindly advise in this regard

06 September 2013 First of all one thing i clarifying you, The due date for filing A.Y 2011-12 return of income is 31-3-2013 u/s 139(4). so Such time is over so now you can't file your return of income for A.Y 2011-12.

As well as after submission of application for pan with in 7 to 10 days the pan number will be allotted by the department and after allotment such number you can check at online after getting number you can file your return of income.

NOTE: IN ANY CASE WITH OUT HAVING PAN NUMBER YOU COULDN'T FILE INCOME TAX RETURN OR PAY TAX ETC... IN ONE WORD FOR ALL COMMUNICATIONS TO THE IT DEPARTMENT IS BASED ON THE PAN ONLY.

with the help of the pan applied acknowledgement number or name and date of birth you can trace status of your pan
