I want to open a Demat A/c
Should i prefer Bank or any broker ?
And also I want to know how Demat A/c is operated ?
Do I need to deposit certain amt with them in order to do transaction?

02 October 2010 bank is better i wud say...u can think of icicidirect.com
u vl get net ID and password..ur icici saving a/c with b linked to that dmat a/c..
u can also place ur orders by calling call centers of icici...
with brokers demat a/c u can place ur order by calling them...
n obiously u have to have amount in ur a/c in order to buy shares ..
