Online filing of itr-3 mandatory or not

My client being a Partnership Firm Having Four partners.It has filed its Return i.e.ITR-5 for the Asstt. Year 2011-12 on today itself electronically with digital Signature.
Now each partner has to file ITR-3 for the same Asstt.Year now.Now query is whether such return for each partner needs to be filed online mandatory or can be filed manuualy directly with concerned ITO having juridiction with ITR-V as Acknowledge.
Please confirm & rever back at the earliest.
