09 March 2010 One of the glaring changes in the Budget 2010-11, is enhancement of Excise duty rate to 10% on the non petroleum products. This has been effectuated by amendment of the basic Notification No. 2/2008-CE dated 01.03.2008 by 6/2010-CE dated 27.02.2010.
As the notifications come into force with its date of publication, so the 10% rate shall be applicable from 27.02.2010.
