29 September 2011 Dear Sir/ Madam,

I have received a notice u/s 143(2). The following was the case:
1. I had filed my return in Navi Mumbai Income tax office (my company being in navi mumbai).
2.I had mentioned address and ward no. of navi mumbai office.
3.My pan card had address of my home in ulhasnagar (ulhasnagar come under kalyan income tax office).
4. I have received the notice u/s143(2) from kalyan office.

I would be thankful to know whether the kalyan income tax office can sent such notice.

29 September 2011 ya may be they are still waiting for your ITR. just send them your ITR which was filed with a reply to notice.

29 September 2011 No, in notice they have raised questions over exempt incomes in ITR

Plz advise whether kalyan office is legaly correct in sending such notice

29 September 2011 SIr,

Now the things are changing. You can file your return anywhere.... also the file normally will be opened by the Ward as per your pan card.. so its legally correct.
Now if you do E filing. its checked by Bangalore office and the local ward will reach you in case of any notice.

Your PAN is in Kalyan office so they send notice to you & it is reasonable

Go to Kalyan Office with your Address Proof Trade Lenience If you Have , Receipt copy of Income Return & told them to transfer PAN from Kalyan to Navi Mumbai Office with written letter.
