22 October 2013 I WANT TO KNOW WHETHER NOTICE U\S. 142(1) ISSUED ON 1-10-13 RECD ON 14-10-13 FOR A.Y.12-13 REQUIRING INFORMATION (16 DIFFERENT INFORMATION) IS VALID AND WHAT TO DO FOR THAT.

for the ass year 2012-13 you can file your return of income before 31.03.2014.

so, 142(1) notice is not justify..

it is to suggest you that file your return of income u/s. 139(4) before 31.03.2014 i.e. belated return

if you received the notice u/s. 143, that is scrutiny assessment and the last date of the serving of this notice is 30.09.2013 following the year in which the return is being filed. so as per this section the notice is time bared and the same will not considerable.

write letter to your AO regarding the same

23 October 2013 notice u/s. 142(1) states that you had not yet file your return of income

so please clarify whether the same is being u/s. 142(1) or 143(1)

the notice is valid and you have to produce books of account as per time noted in the notice
