14 March 2015 I filed Return of Income ITR-4 on 31.07.14 for A Y 2014-15 declaring loss from Business or Profession and Income from salary. I have asked the loss to be c/f

Now i have recd notice u/s 139(9) saying the return has certain defects and should be rectified within 15 days

The errors are
Code 32 - assessee has claimed loss but not filed b/sheet and p & l a/c and has not got the books of account audited

However It is not compulsory for the assessee to maintain books of accounts and get audit done because the turnover is below threshhold limit of compulsory audit

Code 23 - where assessee furnish total of amount deducted in Sl no.2,3,4 and 5 of schedule BP should be consistent with total credits in the p & l Sl no 5

However in schedule BP no amount has been entered against sl no 2,3,4 and 5 and p & l sl no 5

Code 14 - Assessee entering negative amount in gross profit or net profit

In gross profit no negative amount is entered. There is negative amount in net profit since expenses are more than receipts. the negative figure comes automatically

My question is how the rectify the above defects ?

14 March 2015 you can refile the return with original return ack. number and remove the error.
