Need urgent help

I have filed the return for AY2010-11 within time limit. A refund of 60000 was due. After many efforts, IT dept has issued a cheque on 20th july 2012 and dispatched via speed post.But i havent received that.I am trying to track the cheque through the number given in IT website but it says "consignment not found".I have sent several emails to IT regarding this but no reply from them.wat to do now and whom to contact. plz help as i m in great need of money. thanks in advance.

Go to Income Tax department and meet the Income tax officer of your ward. They will ask to submit a application with affidavit. Submit the application on the reception of department and take the receipt on the copy of application.
You will get the lost cheque within 15 days.
