wht i hav to do for change in surname legaly.
my all certificate hav my surname which is rajeev bhushan and my actuly surname is rajeev mohanty.
i want to be introduce my surname in all certifiate.
please suggeste me

RAJEEV,
Surname change by you can be done by making an affidavit before a First Class Magistrate having jurisdiction over your domicile and submit to the General Administration Department (GAD) with the State Government.
Thereafter A news paper publication is made by you inviting the attention of the general public on the name change and the paper cutting is attached to the prescribed form suggested by GAD. The GAD then notifies the name change in the official gazette published by the Government stating that your name has been changed from the former to the new one.
The copy of the gazette is provided by the GAD department on cost which can be used for all purposes and changes in the records over writing your previous name.
You are advised to consult a lawyer specializing in this subject for all the legal formalities in the name change process.
