Whether Sale of -Long Term-Mutual Fund is chargeable to tax?

Sale of LT mutual fund is exempt if STT is paid on sale.
For an equity oriented mutula fund generally STT is paid and for a debt fund STT is not paid.
So it depends upon the type of fund in which u have invested.
