Yes a trader can register them self as traders under Msme and once the firm or company is registered then you can avail the benefits under msmed act 2006

Sir, whether there can be any legal proceedings against us because i took registration under MSME even being a trader?

Hi Pragati,
You have rightly taken the registration since traders are allowed to be registered under Msme under the service category. Rather you can take the benefit of the provision envisaged under the msmed act 2006

Sir i found a Office Memorandum that traders are not reqd to go for MSME reg. Whether that is no valid anymore.

I have gone through it. They have declassified the said activities as per the OM hence it shall not be applicable till further orders.

Sir if a trader intentionally registers itself under any service category for the benefits, then the DIC can take actions against it?
