Mistake in return

07 October 2012 What to do if there is mistake in return filing. if the email id entered in return & father's name is wrongly entered. what to do? revised return? or to send a letter?
if revised return is selected, interest u/s 234 gets levied.
pl suggest what to do..

07 October 2012 You could revise your ITR, int u/s 234 would not be applicable for revision in the ITR.

07 October 2012 But interest u/s 234 A gets applied in MS-Excel e return filing.

08 October 2012 As per the provisions of law the int u/s 234A is not applicable in case of revision of return.

Please check, whether you are referring the ITR as the revised ITR and filling the reference of the original return correctly.

11 October 2012 Only rare chances are their that they would take care of the letter sent by u. Any how you could try and remind them on the e mail id given on the website.
