20 December 2012 Trust is registered under Societies Registration Act of West Bengal. My query is
-Are they required to maintain minute book. If yes, is there any prescribed format for it

20 December 2012 According o Secreterial Standards -5 "Every company is required to keep Minutes of all meetings." & Section 196 of the companies Act , also lays down for the provision relating to minutes of Companies.

Since Trusts are neither companies nor are they registered under the Companies Act, 1956, therefore they are "not required to mainatain minute book"

20 December 2012 but in the MOA, its mentioned that all three kind of meeting vizOrdinary, AGM, EGM will be held. Is in this case also it is not required to draft the minutes

20 December 2012 Trusts registered under Societies Resitration Act are "required to maintain minute book" but you must keep in mind that Secretarial Standard - 5 is not applicable to Trusts nor is it covered under the Companies Act - 1956.

As far as the format of the minute book goes, it is same as the minute book maintained in companies.
