Meis claim

This query is : Resolved

29 July 2016 Hello Experts,

I need your valued guidance in below captioned case:

We are Merchant Exporters and recently faced issue while claiming MEIS.

Despite of our declaration in Customs Invoice & Packing List as “WE INTEND TO CLAIM REWARDS UNDER MERCHANDISE EXPORTS FROM INDIA SCHEME (MEIS)”, CHAs were unaware of the fact that they also need to pay attention to an entry field [“Item Code As Per Reward Directory (MEIS)”] while filing shipping bills through the Customs online system.

SB filing date is after 30.09.2015
The S/B has not been sent to DGFT for MEIS benefit as decided between two ministries.

S/B No. - 3430530
S/B Date - 07.10.2015
Port - Sabarmati ICD (INSBI6)

Our S/B front page has also written note “WE INTEND TO CLAIM REWARDS UNDER MERCHANDISE EXPORTS FROM INDIA SCHEME (MEIS)”.

Now Modification is not Possible as current que in ICE Gate is HIST and hence need your valuable guidance, how to claim this particular S/B for MEIS?

29 July 2016 You question is not clear. However, it may be noted that relevant ITC (HS) Code Number of export product must be indicated on the Shipping Bill for claiming reward under MEIS Scheme. In case the ITC (HS) Code does not refer to the export product you are not eligible for MEIS reward. In cases where the correct ITC (HS) Code number is not mentioned or the Shipping Bill is not available on DGFT repository you may approach the service center of port of export for necessary correction within 3 months from the date of export.

29 July 2016 Thanks for Reply and Regret for Incomplete information if any.

My Question is, inspite of Our Declaration In Invoice + Packing List + S/B our CHA made a mistake and ticked N in Reward Scheme instead of Y.

Now as per recent circular S/B's up to 30.09.2015 are eligible if CHA had inadvertendly made mistake.

But our S/B filling date is 07.10.2015, now how we can suffer a lose of 3% MEIS due to this tick mark N and Y where as we had no role directly?

29 July 2016 In case of Non EDI Shipping Bills, export shipments would need the following declaration on the Shipping Bills in order to be able for claiming reward under MEIS “We intent to claim rewards under Merchandise Exports from India Scheme (MEIS)”. Where exports have been made between 01.06.2015 to 30.09.2015 through EDI generated Shipping Bills , and where the exporter has in advertently marked “N” in the “ reward item box “ but has declared is intention in the affirmative on Shipping Bill. Thus, after 30.09.2015 marking of tick “Y” in appropriate tick box are mandatory in EDI Shipping Bills. For non EDI ports the above declaration would be sufficient. Since Sabarmati ICD is an EDI port marking of tick “Y” in appropriate box is mandatory for MEIS reward.
