Appropriation with an example if possible.

20 May 2016 appropriation mean profit after the taxation remain. and what the company do like tfr to general reserve . pay some part as dividend , or make a reserve for replacement of plant etc. like 100 after tax profit co. make 20rs dividend, 50 tfr to reserve for assets replacement and remaining add in p/l a/c bal.
