18 August 2013 our company is excise exempted unit.we are doing job work from a company named puri electronics . he is excisable unit.he told us that please submit a letter in excise department. in notification no. 214/86. why he told us. if we will submit this letter under notification no. 214/86. then the job worker will not pay any excise.

18 August 2013 Notification No. 214/86 provides that a declaration has to be given by person sending material or semi-finished goods for job work to jurisdictional Assistant Commissioner having jurisdictional over the factory of job worker.

18 August 2013 BUT SIR IF JOB WORKER IS FREE FROM EXCISE LIABLITY. THEN NO MATTER ARISE OF EXCISE DUTY BY JOB WORKER. THEN EXCISE DUTY WILL BE PAID BY. PRINCPLE MANUFACTURER.

18 August 2013 IN WHICH CONDITION WE WILL SUBMIT LETTER UNDER NOTIFICATION NO. 214/86
1-WHEN JOB WORKER IS EXCISABLE UNIT AND PRINCIPAL MANUFACTURER IS FREE FROM EXCISE DUTY.
2-BOTH UNIT IS EXCISABLE UNIT

19 August 2013 If goods are exempted then no need to intimate to the department. Goods is taxable then any one can pay the duty and any one can intimate to the department.
