23 October 2016 Any work by any person on behalf of other person who generally provide the material to complete the work is called labour work and need to remit no VAT or WCT but liable to remit service tax. Using his material to complete the work is called job work comes under works contracts. The job work completed with his own material shall register under SGST or VAT and remit the WCT to extent of the goods utilised.
