Material of one invoice shipped in two diff. consignments

This query is : Resolved

14 June 2010 We have received the freight invoice from one of our transporter according to whom the material of one invoice has been shipped as two separate consignment. Is it allowed? As we will receive two bill of entries for same invoice. How the payment will be made in this case? Would it create any legal difficulty for payment?

14 June 2010 There is no legal difficulty.
It is allowed. Some time in case of large consignement of material /machinery, the same case arise.
In such case, both consignment (transport) should be come together in transit.
One transporter have photocopy of same invoice and second one have orignal copy of invoice. If in transit, any authority check then they have to provide the bill with bill of entries for checking.

You have to made custom duty agaisnt for both bill of entries.
You have to make payment to party agasint amount payable as per invoice thourgh tt/LC/RTGS etc.

14 June 2010 For both consignment seprate form 38 or transit challan as per state will be filled.

14 June 2010 Thank You Sir, kindly resolve my query of 11th June also regarding bill of entry.
