Please guide me whether it is mandatory to file income tax return for F.Y.2013-14.
I am salaried person having salary approx.4.5 lac in the f.y.2013-14.
What are the disadvantage of not filing income tax return.

It is mandatory to file the return.

it was allowed only for a particular FY only so now its mandatiry if ur total income without dedcution or exemption exceeds the basic exemption slab.
