22 August 2008 Dear Experts,

Please tell me whether accounts for the Contributory Provident Fund has to be maintained separately or can it be shown in the Main Balance sheet.

What is the exact rule position? Please give me the rule position.

23 August 2008 Are you talking about an exempted fund (approved by IT) maintained by the trustees? If so Yes you have to maintain it separately only.

24 August 2008 Dear Sir,

I am talking about CPF which is regulated by Provident Fund Act, 1925 and CPF Rules. This is certainly not the one maintained by the trustees which is regulated by EPF and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952
