This discussion outlines the required documents for a legal heir certificate for a wife of a deceased person for the financial year 2024-25. Valid proofs include certificates from a court of law or local revenue authorities, a surviving family member certificate, a registered will, or a family pension certificate. A letter from the bank confirming nominee status or a joint account holder can also suffice. While an Aadhar card with the husband's name is not explicitly listed as a primary certificate, a notarised self-declaration on stamp paper may be accepted for tax obligations if other documents are unavailable due to time constraints. Obtaining a certificate from the District Court through an advocate is also suggested.

If you are nominee of his Bank account, then Bank will issue certificate. That will work. Or get legal heir certificate from District court, it will be available through any advocate.
