i have paid 20000 for lic on 31.3.2017 but cheque has been paid on 20.4.2017.please advice me in which year i have to show this amount for deduction fy 2016-2017 or fy 2017-2018

2016-17 FY .If receipt to prove the ch was paid on 31st March..

lic receipt is of date 31.3.2017 but cheque debited on 20.4.2017

What was cheque date, if 31.03.2017, post it for FY 2016-17.
