07 January 2014 I am a MBBS doctor , working as an advisor on retainership in a cement factory and my income has now exceeded 10 lakh. Am i liable to pay service tax or whether doctors are exempted from paying service tax (as per mega exemption list)

07 January 2014 yes, infact once it crosses 9lkhs u need to register with service tax dept by filling up form st-1 and when gross rev form such service exceeds rs 10 lkhs then u needto pay service tax also as u providing service in private company.

13 January 2014 According to Mega exemption list & notification (25/2012), Health care services are exempted from service tax .I am An authorized medical practitioner so it should be exempted. Nowhere it is written that providing services to a private company is not exempted. If you are talking abour scientific and technical consultant (annexure 1) , doctors are in that category., So please inform under what clause it should not be exempted. thanks

13 January 2014 In search files u can know more about 25/2012 as ammended by cbec and service to private org is taxable as only for govt sector it is exempted.
