09 August 2010 is there compultion to write "to" &"by" in ledger accounts

10 August 2010 This is the tradition which is followed.

It makes easy recognition whether a particular account has been credited or debited.

Whenever we write "To" it means the particular account has been credited.

For opposite i.e. Dr. we use to write By.
