09 August 2010 is there compultion to write "to" &"by" in ledger accounts

10 August 2010 This is the tradition which is followed.

It makes easy recognition whether a particular account has been credited or debited.

Whenever we write "To" it means the particular account has been credited.

For opposite i.e. Dr. we use to write By.

She tells "rule" which is actually a tradition.

Rule are always followed. These are not broken generally. Although there may be some exceptions to the rule.
