Pls tell me what are the consequances of leaving the job without notice?
I did not sign any bond but i signed my appointment letter according to which i have to give 45 days notice or equivelent amount i lieu of notice.
I Know legally they can force me to pay the amount if the notice period is not served.
BUT the BIG ques is:can they make any complaint in ICAI or anything which wud be harmful for my CA Membership?

Hi Anuj,
ICIA has nothing to do with your joining or leaving the organization. They just want that we maintain code of conduct at work place.

boss even i wana to ask the same question.
IF i leave the job without notice, wat action ICAI can take? and will it be considered under not following the Code of Conduct?

There are only few restrictions under Code of Conduct to CAs in Service. I believe, no employer even knows about these code of conducts. Further, leaving of job without notice wont come under any violation of CC

THE CONTRACT OF EMPLOYEMENT IS BETWEEN EMPLOYER AND EMPLOYEE ONLY.
IF AN EMPLOYEE LEAVES JOB WITHOUT NOTICE, THE APPT.LETTER CONDITIONS IF ANY ON NOICE PERIOD OR EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT CONDITIONS IF ANY ON NOTICE PERIOD ARE APPLICABLE.
THE ICAI DOES NOT COME INTO PICTURE UNLESS THE EMPLOYER (OLD OR NEW ) CHOOSES TO MAKE A COMPLAINT IN WRITING TO THE ICAI WITH MEMBERSHIP NUMBER ETC OF THE MEMBER (AGAINST WHOM ANY COMPLAINT IS MADE) WHICH I BELIVEVE ARE NOT KNOWN TO THE OLD OR NEW EMPLOYER .
BUT IT IS GOOD FOR OUR CAREER AS C.A IN PRACTICE OR EMPLOYMENT TO HONOR TERMS OF THE CONTRACT SIGNED IF ANY WITH A CLIENT OR EMPLOYER.
