Hello Sir,
I have completed my articleship training on 21/04/2016 but the excess leave i have to serve according to the institute letter is 411 days which my last Principal has calculated and given to the institute on my termination. These 411 days includes Maternity leave and Exam leave and excluding the Leave period Allowed under Articleship. Can u please suggest How many excess Leave period/days I have to serve with my Current Principal.

As per Icai norms, leave during articeship is allowed for 1/6th of the total number of days you have worked during 3 years and any excess leaves taken are required to be served as an extension to your article ship. Hence you and your principal need to calculate your leave as per this provision.

Also, there is no provision for maternity leave during your article ship period.

Maximum allowed leaves in 3 year articleship = 3*365/7 = 156
You have to serve for the leaves in excess of 156 days excluding the specified leaves.
