if income tax return of AY 2011-12 is pending. Can we file it now ?? because there is big amount of refund is possible.

You will not be able to file it now. You have certain procedures for refund but would require permission of commissioner of income tax. Contact your assessing officer for more details

Yes, if amount is big you may approach CIT for condonation of delay u/s 119(2)(b),
If delay was condoned your return may be accepted and refund may be processed.
