Know your return filed or not?

is there any way to know whether IT return has been filed or not where return is e-filed without logging into the account. i wanted to know status of return filing based on efiling acknowledgement number.

If there is efiling acknowledgement then certainly you can believe that the return has been filed online. If you want to know the status, then certainly u have to log in by changing the password by the efiling acknowledgement. Refund status only you can find without logging in. For acknowledgement, u have to log in

We can check with the concerned income tax office only for manual filing. Payment of tax, refund and other information can be found by logging in and viewing Form 26AS
