04 April 2013 Hi,I am a CA Fresher and I have come to know of an opportunity as Business Analytic in a General Insurance Company.The job profile would include working on large volumes of data related to the General Insurance Policies,performing analysis and providing inputs to the management,which will help them in Premium Pricing decisions. Is it wise to join?Please Advice

04 April 2013 yes it is.
1. Insurance is growing sector.
2. Insurance companies generally offer this kind of positions to statistician or mathmaticians. you can prove CAs too have potential and good in numver crunching.
3. Think differently, accounting, auditing, incometax, portfolio mgt, banking, BPO, manufacturing are conventional type every new CA limits his thinking to these areas. Insurance is an area yet to be explored by CAs.

Analytics is somthing whihc will help you in any industry and refines ones thinking. your performance may pave ways for other new CA.
