I have income from professional service only for FY 2013-14
Whether it is mandatory to maintain/prepare financial statement i.e. balance sheet and Profit and loss a/c
Because it is requirement for ITR-4 so what to do

Yes, as per Law you to prepare the same and file. But only preparation of P&L can also work if you are not intended to file balance sheet. This is a general practice not as per law. Law is clear and you have to fill both in the ITR Form.
