Quick Summary

The new Income Tax website has discontinued the old Excel and Java utilities for filing tax returns. Instead, a new common utility is available for ITR-1, ITR-2, ITR-3, and ITR-4. While some features for ITR-3 are still being developed, individual utilities for ITR-5, ITR-6, and ITR-7 have recently been released.

Are there excel forms available in new Income tax website which were available in old website. There were used to fill data offline and upload XML files.

06 July 2021 No. Excel and java utilities, which were present earlier has been discontinued. A new common utility is made available in the portal, which can be used to file ITR-1, ITR-2, ITR-3 and ITR-4. Some features related ITR-3 is not yet completely functional in the utility. And also common utility for ITR-5, ITR-6 and ITR-7 is also yet to be made available.
